Lakeville Area Adult Basic Education offers free classes for adults who wish to:
- Improve their English
- Prepare for the GED
- Increase computer skills
- Prepare for job/career advancement
- Take advantage of at-home learning (Skype ESL program)
New students can enroll and join our classes the first week of each month during regular class time.
Morning English Classes
Multi-level English language classes for adults are offered every morning at the following times and location. Community Education Department (new location!) 17685 Juniper Path, Suite 200, Lakeville, MN 55044 Monday – Thursday from 9:15 a.m.- 12:15 p.m. Friday from 9:15 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (Friday class focuses on English writing basics and is a self-paced class.)
Evening English Classes
Multi-level English language classes for adults are offered Monday and Wednesday evenings at the Area Learning Center, 20950 Howland Ave., W., Lakeville, MN 55044 Monday and Wednesday from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
At-home English learning through Skype
Our program offers opportunities for English language learners to further their progress at home through Skype conversations. Students can be paired with a volunteer Skype coach to further their learning between classes. If you are interested in this opportunity, you must already be enrolled as a student in our Adult Basic Education program.
Adult Basic Education/GED/Adult Diploma Preparation Classes
These classes are designed to help you prepare for your General Education Diploma (GED) or advance towards an Adult Diploma, increase computer skills and further develop skills for job/career advancement. Classes are in a lab setting and focus on self-paced learning.
