Lakeville Area Public Schools has many learning opportunities for families with young children.  These programs support healthy growth and development to ensure children are prepared for primary school and beyond.  Core Early Childhood Education programs include:

Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE)

Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) is a Lakeville Area Public Schools Community Education program that strengthens families with young children through education and support.

Early Childhood Screening (ECS)

The Early Childhood Screening (ECS) is a free, developmental screening required for all preschool-age children by the State of Minnesota. It includes a developmental screening and a vision, hearing, height, wight and immunization review.

Family Literacy – Family School

Family Literacy recognizes that family is the strongest element in shaping lives and learning. Our community sponsors a program, Family School that encompasses the literacy needs of both parents and young children, family play interaction time, parenting skills, and English as Language Learners programming. On three afternoons each week, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, from 12:30 pm – ­3:00pm, families come together to build the tools they need to become stronger and more self­-sufficient. The classes are free and bussing is provided

Small Wonders Preschool

Small Wonders Preschool offers age appropriate creative curriculum that captivates the children’s attention, creating a strong foundation for learning.

Wonder Zone

Wonder Zone is a child care program for children 3 to 6 years of age, and collaborates with Small Wonders Preschool to offer a full day of learning and fun.

Aquatics and Safety

Our Aquatics and Safety programming helps your child enjoy developing swimming and water safety skills in a positive learning environment.
