Coordinating Summer Adventures with Other Programs Summer Adventures is a “one stop shop” for your family!
It’s easy to coordinate the Summer Adventures schedule with Targeted Services, Extended School Year, Aquatics and afternoon Youth Enrichment Classes.
Based on eligibility criteria, some students will receive invitations from their school’s learning specialist to participate in summer Targeted Services. There is no fee for Targeted Services. Targeted Services for students entering grades K through 4 will be held at EVE Elementary. Targeted Services for students entering grades 5 & 6 will be held at Lakeville South High School. Transportation will be provided between their Summer Adventures site and Targeted Services site. All Targeted Services classes run Monday through Thursday from July 11 through August 11. Questions about Targeted Services can be directed to your school’s learning specialist. Targeted Services students may participate full time in Summer Adventures during weeks 1-4 and 10-11.
Students may attend the sunrise and sunset sessions as well as Friday field trips during weeks 4-9 when they attend Targeted Services.
Extended School Year
Extended School Year (ESY) services are provided to students who receive special education services during the school year and meet criteria to receive special education services beyond the regular school year. Extended School Year services will be offered Mon.–Thurs. beginning July 11 and ending Aug. 11. Services are delivered at varying times between the hours of 8:30 am and 12:30 pm. Students attending Extended School Year may participate in the Summer Adventures program. Transportation is provided between the Summer Adventures sites and Extended School Year schools.
It’s still possible to be in Summer Adventures and take part in a daytime swim class or open swim. We’ll bus children to and from the pool during the Sunset program! We will provide swim lessons during weeks 3-4 and 5-6. Swim lessons run Monday-Thursday. Weeks 3-4 will have 7 lessons (no class on Monday, July 4th), and weeks 5-6 will have 8 lessons. Please register for these lessons on FeePay under courses. Swim lesson fees are not included in the Summer Adventures fee. Summer Adventures also offers an open swim time for each summer site. This is an optional activity for children. Please make sure children bring swimwear and a towel.
Youth Enrichment Classes
Summer Adventures children at Christina Huddleston and Lakeview can coordinate afternoon enrichment classes with their Sunset session. Offerings include Watch Me Draw! Pirates and Shipwrecks, Engineer LEGO Boats, and Star Wars Video Programming. Register for these classes on FeePay under courses. Fees for these classes are not included in the Summer Adventures fee.
