Welcome to Lakeville South High School, the home of the Cougars!
Lakeville South High School is a comprehensive, college preparatory four-year high school with an enrollment of approximately 1850 students. Our curriculum includes extensive Advanced Placement opportunities. We offer core curriculum honors courses in English, Mathematics, Social Studies, Science and World Languages. In addition, we offer a full range of AVID, STEM and Special Education courses. We are proud to be on Newsweek’s list of America’s Top High Schools 2016 and of being ranked among 500 schools across our country that are doing a stellar job of preparing students for college.
Lakeville South High School students excel in the classroom and in co-curricular activities. We offer a wide range of over 70 co-curricular opportunities for our students. Cougar students participate and experience success in activities, athletics, clubs, fine arts, intramurals, and adaptive sports. Our students receive recognition annually at the conference, region, state, and national levels. Our hard working and talented students and their accomplishments continually amaze us.
Lakeville South High School faculty are committed to providing an environment where our students can succeed emotionally, intellectually, and socially in high school and beyond. Over 80% of Cougar staff hold masters or doctorate degrees. 70% have 10 or more years of professional experience. All faculty members are engaged in focused Professional Learning Communities. Cougar faculty work in collaborative teams examining student performance and professional practice on a continuous basis.
