Under a proposal, Lakeville Area Public Schools Community Education Department could move to the Minnesota School of Business this summer.
At its study session March 21, a consensus of the Board of Education’s members directed the district’s administration to lease space for a five-year period with the possibility of a five-year extension. Under the proposal, the space would be used to house the Community Education Department’s staff who will be displaced when a lease for a building in downtown Lakeville expires this summer.
At its meeting, the Board of Education also heard reports on the possibility of harvesting energy from solar gardens to reduce utility costs. Board members also received an update from the Business Services department on negotiations for Dakota County to acquire small portions of property at Kenwood Trail Middle School for the County Road 50 redevelopment project.
See the district’s website for meeting agendas, materials and minutes.
