Grab your kids and head to Lakeville Area Public School’s first-ever Activities and Sports Festival Saturday, Feb. 24. More than 40 District and community organizations will offer hands-on experiences in everything from educational opportunities to fine arts to sports, clubs and organizations.

“The Activities and Sports Festival is a great opportunity to bring the community together during the winter months to discover all that our schools, clubs, and associations have to offer families,” said Steve Porter, director of Community Education and member of the Activities and Sports Festival Steering Committee. “This event will also give community members the chance to explore activities they may or may not have considered participating in before.”

Attendees will get to test their skills with an inflatable archery range and virtual fire extinguisher training, show their competitive side in the handstand and cartwheel contests, have fun with the popular parachute games, and so much more. There will also be food vendors, a DJ, giveaways, photo opportunities with mascots, live musical performances from Lakeville North, Lakeville South and Kenwood Trail Middle School, and open swim (with limited availability) at the end of the festival.

Mark your calendars now — the event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Kenwood Trail Middle School. Stay tuned for updates, and be sure to visit our Facebook event and website for more information.
