Twenty-four Lakeville South students participate in local French speaking contest

Lakeville South French studentsTwenty-four Lakeville South students participated in the annual A Vous la Parole French speaking contest held at the University of Minnesota April 26. Sponsored annually by the Minnesota Chapter of the American Association of Teachers of French and the University of Minnesota Department of French and Italian, the contest recognizes excellence in French speaking skills. The contest drew 1,231 entries among students in grades 7-12.

Ava Moes, Anson Tiong, Alex Church, Emily Copeland, Jake Bornholdt, Larissa Ernst, Eva Stotz, Maci Kiecker, Emma Bild, Kylynne Jones, Caroline Kelley, Nolan Telthoester, Jenna Christiansen, Hannah Lundblad, Madeline Brohmer, Adele Willingham, Taylor Chapdelaine, Stephanie McGrath, Elizabeth Oechsle, Michaela Messier, Madison Schomburg, Madelyn Rumy and Sydney Klausler competed at the event. The students’ teacher is Anne Muske.

The various contest categories included prose and poetry recitations, theater presentations, song performances, extemporaneous reading, extemporaneous conversation and original skits. Students were given ratings based on a four-star system and all participants receive a certificate of participation regardless of their particular rating.
