Pathways High School Academy

Lakeville Area Learning Center High School Program

Pathways High School Academy at the Lakeville Area Learning Center is an educational option for all high school students. Pathways Academy is an alternative option for students to get their high school diploma. At Pathways we offer courses in the core areas and a variety of electives. These classes follow the same standards and learning targets that the two mainstream high schools follow, it is the delivery that is different. Pathways High School offers a more personalized learning environment. Class sizes are smaller with the largest class about 20 students. With class sizes being smaller, the students will get more one on one time with their teacher. Pathways believes in building working relationships with students; this relationship builds trust and thus paves the way for more learning to take place. Pathways High School is also moving to the Project Based Learning model, which allows students to work in a more hands on learning environment. Pathways High School also offers a variety of electives; one of the student’s favorites would be the Career Course and On the Job Training Program. We offer AVID as an elective course, another student favorite. We are also have a new program with Dakota County Technical College and Inver Hill Community College called Pathways College Academy. This program is only available to students that attend an alternative education center and offers students the ability to attend college and high school to earn college credits. At Pathways we also have a Student Council that is responsible for planning many of the field trips we take and the different activities that take place through out the year. Pathways High School is a school where our goal is to help all students see their greatest potential and help them reach it. Pathways High School is an option to students who may want a smaller setting, or need a change from the mainstream high schools. If you are interested in enrolling for the current school year, please contact Sharon Danley at 952-232-2080, or contact your high school dean for more information or to schedule an intake meeting.
