What is Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE)?

Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) is a Lakeville Area School District Community Education program that strengthens families with young children through education and support. ECFE provides parent-child interaction activities and parent education for families with children ages birth through kindergarten.  ECFE+ classes extend specific program offerings to families with children up to Grade 3.

Whether you choose in-person or virtually, ECFE offers 3 components:

Growing Together: For You and Your Child – Activities designed by a licensed early childhood teacher for parents and children to explore together (art, music, stories, and a variety of developmental activities).

Growing Independently: For Your Child – Children will have fun learning through play using art, movement, games and stories with the early childhood teacher, the classroom assistant, and other children in class.

Growing Confidently: For You – Parents will join a Licensed Parent Educator in an informal group setting with the opportunity to choose and discuss current family topics, share ideas and concerns, and feel encouraged by the support of others.
