Lakeville Area Schools joins with the Inclusive Schools Network and schools, districts and communities around the world in declaring the week of Dec. 3-7, 2018 as “Inclusive Schools Week.”
The Board of Education passed the following resolution in honor of Inclusive Schools Week:
Lakeville Area Schools is committed to providing an education in our schools and classrooms that is welcoming and capable of educating all children.
The educators of Lakeville Area Schools recognize that each child is unique, learns differently, and, therefore, learns better if teaching is tailored to their abilities and interests.
The educators and families of Lakeville Area Schools are dedicated to ensuring classrooms and schools are characterized as being high performing and inclusive.
By their efforts to make schools and classrooms high performing and inclusive, the educators and families of Lakeville Area Schools have contributed significantly to building a stronger and more inclusive community.
In observation of Inclusive Schools Week and in recognition of our many dedicated educators and supportive families, Lakeville Area Schools encourages schools and classrooms across the District to sponsor appropriate learning and community-building activities to celebrate their successes and reflect on how they can continue to grow in inclusion.
