Magnuson has worked in education for 22 years. Most recently, she was the early childhood coordinator for the McKinley Early Childhood Center for Faribault Public Schools. She oversees all early childhood programming including family education, special education, and early childhood screening.
“I am thrilled to join Lakeville Area Schools where pride in the community and district is directly evident,” said Magnuson. “I am a strong believer in early education and parents as partners. I look forward to working alongside fellow Lakeville Area educators to serve our youngest community members.”
Prior to her work in Faribault, Magnuson served as the Interim Director of Education at the University of Wisconsin-Superior, an elementary principal in Rosemount, Apple Valley, Eagan District 196, and held director, principal and teaching roles in the School District of Superior.
Magnuson has a bachelor’s degree in elementary and early childhood education, a master’s in reading instruction, and an EdS in educational leadership from UW-Superior. She still serves UW-Superior as an adjunct instructor, teaching online courses. Magnuson also holds several licenses and is working to obtain her Director of Special Education licensure.
Magnuson will take over for Julie Ritter, who served as the early childhood family education and screening manager for eight years.
