Elementary Transition to In-Person Learning to be Discussed at School Board Meeting

Families,

I hope you enjoyed a nice Winter Break and had a good first week back learning with your teachers and classmates. As you know, elementary students will be transitioning back to in-person classes five days a week later this month. Before break we shared the following transition timeline:

Students in grades K-2 will begin in-person learning January 25

    • The last day of Distance Learning for K-2 will be January 20.
    • Jan. 21-22 will be non-school days for grades K-2 to allow these staff members time to prepare for the transition.

Students in grades 3-5 will begin in-person learning February 8

    • The last day of Distance Learning for grades 3-5 will be Feb. 3.
    • Feb. 4-5 will be non-school days for grades 3-5 to allow these staff members time to prepare for the transition.

Students in grades 6-12 will remain in Distance Learning until further notice. We continue to track county case rates and state guidance for our secondary schools.

I want to provide you with a brief update, letting you know that the Administration and I will be presenting our transition plan at the regular school board meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 12 at 7 p.m. I invite all families to tune-in to the live broadcast on LETV or on local Charter cable channel 188. A recording of this meeting will be available for playback on LETV

Following feedback from the board, the Administration will make any necessary adjustments to our plan and communicate more details with families. Our COVID-19 website will be continually updated with information and resources for families.

Regards,

Michael Baumann
Superintendent
