The Lakeville South High School Marching Band tied for third place at the Class A Minnesota State Championships in Minneapolis on Oct. 13 at the U.S. Bank Stadium. The Youth in Music Marching Band Championships featured 29 high school bands and approximately 4,000 student performers who performed for over 7,000 attendees.
Lakeville South senior, Emily Lloyd was honored as one of two Class A recipients to receive a scholarship.
Congratulations to all of these students and band directors Nick Castonguay and Chad Bieniek for and outstanding achievement and season.
Last chance to see the band perform this Saturday! The marching band will perform at their annual indoor marching band concert, Tailgates and Tunes, this Saturday, Oct. 27 at Lakeville South. The event brings together the Lakeville Area community and features family activities and games, food, music and much more beginning at 1 p.m.. Music will begin in the auditorium at 4 p.m. This event is free and open to the public.
