Lisa Holien honored for outstanding service by Minnesota Association for Children’s Mental Health

Lisa HolienLakeville Area Schools student support services coordinator, Lisa Holien, has been selected to receive the Minnesota Association for Children’s Mental Health (MACHA) Outstanding Service Award.

Each year, MACHA recognizes individuals who have had a significant, positive influence in the lives of children with mental health needs. The award is given to just three public servants each year who have shown extraordinary achievement and leadership in the field of children’s mental health.

Holien has been a champion for Lakeville Area students and families for over 20 years. Her work includes implementation of district-wide systems to support the social-emotional wellbeing of students. She helped create the South of the River Mental Health Summit, established the first chemical and mental health coalition in the Lakeville Area and has secured a grant to implement multi-tiered support services across Lakeville Area Schools.

The award will be presented at the MACMH’s Evening of Heart Gala on Nov. 2 at the Radisson Blu Mall of America in Bloomington.

Founded in 1989, MACMH’s mission is to promote positive mental health for all infants, children, adolescents and their families.
