Ready, Set, Achieve!, the District’s community-wide event that aims to alleviate the financial burden of school supply costs for families in need, has won the Minnesota Community Education Association’s Project Award. On Oct. 23, at the Regular School Board Meeting, Khia Brown, MCEA Board of Director member, presented the award to Lisa Holien, Julie Ritter and Pam McNutt, Ready, Set, Achieve! steering committee leaders.
Over the past five years, Ready, Set, Achieve! has engaged civic organizations, public health agencies, the Lakeville Area business community, as well as countless dedicated volunteers to provide back-to-school supplies, services and resources in a personalized manner for the benefit of all Lakeville Area students and families in need.
The MCEA Project Award is presented to outstanding projects that have exemplified the concept of Community Education. Projects were judged based upon:
- Cooperation and Teamwork
- Use of Resources
- Community Impact
