Volleyball and Football Seasons Resumed on Sept. 28

Last week the Minnesota State High School League voted to return volleyball and football to the fall activities season effective Sept. 28. The League had previously voted to postpone the two sports to 2021 in response to COVID-19 concerns, while continuing other fall high school activities.

Information regarding these two fall sports is noted below:

Girls volleyball practice resumed on Sept. 28. Games will begin Oct. 8 with health and safety protocols in place for players and teams. The League has determined that no spectators will be allowed due to health and safety concerns. Instead, games will be streamed live online:

Football practice resumed on Sept. 28. The first games at home will be held on Oct. 9. Minnesota high school stadiums are limited to 250 people including stadium workers. Each school will be limited to a total of 120 spectators which will be distributed evenly amongst the parents of football players and submitted on a pre-approved guest list. Walk-up tickets will not be available.

Please note that spectators who do not have stadium passes will not be allowed on school grounds to view games, such as in parking lots, the hill, or outside of our stadiums. Instead, games will be streamed online for all members of our school communities to view live online:

For sports schedules and game times, please visit the team websites. More details for our school communities will be shared directly from our Activities Departments.
