In light of the overnight snowfall, we would like to share with you how Lakeville Area Schools communicates if school is delayed, closed early, or is canceled. School, programs and activities may be closed and/or canceled by the Superintendent in the event of extreme weather conditions.
Upon a decision to close, delay school or dismiss early, all K-12 families will receive a phone call, text message and email to the emergency contact listed in their Infinite Campus Parent Portal. Now is a great time to make sure your emergency contact information is up-to-date. To do so, visit your school office or log-in to your Parent Portal account and click the user icon in the upper right corner, then click “settings” and “contact preferences.” Update your preferred email and phone number for calls and texts, and language.
School closings will also be posted on the District website at isd194.org and on the District’s Facebook page @LakevilleAreaSchools, Twitter page @LakevilleAreaPS and Instagram page @LakevilleAreaSchools. An official announcement will be made on TV stations WCCO (Channel 4), KSTP (Channel 5), KMSP (Channel 9), and KARE (Channel 11).
New this school year, Lakeville Area Schools will be implementing Flexible Learning Days, or “FLEX Days,” for students in Kindergarten through Grade 12. Instead of coming to school, on a FLEX Day K-12 students will continue their learning from home with support from their teachers. The first inclement weather day of the school year will not be a FLEX Day. The Superintendent may call a FLEX Day after the first snow day. More specific information will be available in the coming weeks from your schools and teachers. For more information about FLEX Days, including copies of previous communications. please visit: isd194.org/academics/flex-days.
When adverse conditions exist, please know buses may run late at times. Parents are advised to make provisions for the care of their children in the event of a school closing, late start or early dismissal.
