The Ignite! Parent Partners is a parent group dedicated to fundraising and community-building to support and enhance the Ignite! experience for all families. Everyone is welcome to get involved. The Ignite! staff is grateful for the support of our Parent Partners. Our generous parents have raised over $46,000 since Ignite! began in 2011. This support has allowed our staff to implement a wide range of enhanced learning opportunities for students. The Ignite! program would not be the same without our Parent Partners.
Each spring, the Parent Partners sponsor two fundraising events:
- Direct Donation Blitz (May 15 – June 15)
- Ignite! Summer Read-a-Thon (June – Aug. 31)
Direct Donation Blitz
The goal of the Direct Donation Blitz is to support the Oak Hills Ignite! Wish List by raising $6,000 ($65/student) to fund technology needs annually. The Direct Donation Blitz takes place May-June annually. Donations received during this time will help our Ignite! staff to submit requests for technology purchases this summer, which will help support our students the following school year. This donation is tax deductible, and may be sent in through the end of the school year with your child, or after the school year, by mailing to Ignite! at Oak Hills Elementary, through June. If donating May though June is not good timing for your family, donations can be made at any time. Please complete a Direct Donation Form and return the bottom of the form with your donation. Checks should be made out to: ‘ISD 194’, with ‘Ignite!’ written in the memo field. Your tax-deductible receipt will be your ‘cancelled’ check. If a $65 donation for each Ignite! student is sent in, then the goal will be attained! Donations should be sent to: Oak Hills Elementary School – C/O: Ignite! 8640 165th Street West, Lakeville, MN 55044
Ignite! Summer Read-a-Thon
Every summer the Ignite! Parent Partners sponsor an Ignite! Read-a-Thon. Ignite! students will receive a packet of materials to set a reading goal. The fundraising portion of the Read-a-Thon is optional, but the Ignite! staff encourages all students to set a reading goal and track their reading progress over the summer.
